Root [Verizon] Hi All! Anyone know which gs3 forum do I post in?

Hi!

I am new to interacting on forums and websites, and own a gs3 on Verizon's network am I posting in right forum?

Thanks Mikestony, yes the reason I am here now are to root my devices. I just like tinkering I guess. The curve will be steep. Thanks for the direction.

And I followed this guide to-the-letter and it worked for me with NO data loss.
In fact, I just did this about 3 or 4 days ago!
Just read thru it a few times to familiarize yourself with it, and if you have any questions about it, just ask:D

After using this guide, you will have an unlocked bootloader, custom recovery and a stock rooted rom.
You can now flash the rom of your choice.:)
I am going to try the CleanRom this weekend:)

OOOOh I am excited now!!! I cant wait to get rid of the bloat ware and S voice. I hate that thing. I am always trying to multi task between apps and press the home key wrong and it prompts samsungs S VOICE.

Oh yeah....... Did you use method one or two? I am not sure which method is going to be best for me. That link for XDA,? is that for flashing a custom ROM Right? Not for rooting?
 
That link for XDA is not for flashing a rom. That link is what you want to root.
I think method 1 or 2 in this forum is for older versions of Android.
I can vouch for the XDA method....I have used it.
After that XDA method, I can provide you with a link for different roms to flash.:)

I am not sure what extracting means. Do you?

Yes, after download, right click on the .zip folder, and the option to "extract all" will come up. Click on that and it will extract it to a path by default or one you select. I usually just click "o.k." to what comes up.:)
