If on the new 39A software ( android 5.0.2 ) then search for LG Root Script v1.2 It worked on my Verizon VS980 just when you get the # prompt wait a few minutes and unplug your phone then plug it back in, it should say finished. You may not see SuperSu in your apps so go to play store find it and play should say it's installed, open it from play then close it. You can then install rootchecker which should tell you root has been properly installed. Hope it helps.....
