[Verizon] Jb sourcery battery observations

Jeffruby

Installed jb sourcery and have tried both franco kernels, lean, popcorn and stock. On lean (I think best) I can get no awake time while phone off, and little battery drain. Problem is drain while using phone. Literally 1% per minute.

Very frustrated.

There's a lot of factors that can go into that. 3g or 4g or wifi? Screen brightness? What are you doing in that one minute? Etc... Unfortunately the downside to having such a nice screen is its terrible battery life

This is the problem with most android phones. I've had 3 and while my battery life would stay almost unchanged while the phone wasn't on any 3G/4G usage would drain the battery.

I posted original post here.

I lose roughly 1% per hour and I have 4g off, WiFi on when home, 3g out of house, brightness down to 20%. Screen is still culprit. Max out 1.5 hours screen on time. No idea how some get 3+ hrs screen on time.

How are you switching between kernels?

You should be returning to the JB kernel before switching to a different kernel.

You can have left-overs from one kernel interfering with the next or you might get lucky and no problem.

You could restore a stock JB backup from recovery or reflash JB or flash whatever kernel JB uses.

Is a new one on me too. Guessing it is possible to have something left over, but since your can't wipe between kernels, loading a stock kernel between other kernels should provide no difference
