(Verizon) just got s4, how do I save everything to sd card and SIM card on s3?

I just got my s4 and am ready to save everything on my s3 to transfer it to my s4. What do I need to do exactly? Save all of it to my sd card? Just transfer my SIM card? Trying not to go to he Verizon store, the wait is 50 minutes currently to be seen....

If you have everything backed up with your google account, all your apps and contacts will automatically transfer. You will have to use another program to back up your app data and transfer it if you want it

How can I make sure it's backed up to my Google account?

Whenever I would add contacts to my phone I always chose to add them to my gmail. I dont know if there is a way to quickly add them all to the gmail or not though so I really dont know. If you go to your settings > accounts > and your gmail account, it should have some settings for app syncing your apps and stuff
