Root [Verizon] KitKat is here!

Woot! :D
Flashing now. Will update with any bugs I find. Looks like the only thing known is the video camera doesn't work (no biggie for me).
(Rom)(Aosp 4.4) Team Gummy Rom Preview For Verizon Lg G2 - xda-developers

Also, anyone looking to do this, BE SURE to use Clockwork Mod!!!!! TWRP will just cause problems and won't work. You can use Flashify (free app in Play) to flash it painlessly (and swap back to TWRP if you need to). Here's a link to the recovery image:

Working fine for me. :)
You can also set it up as the quick launch (slide to the left) app as default instead of AOSP in the lock screen. Video camera still doesn't work though. Also, if you think you'll miss "knock off" (knock on works fine), you can set up a 4th nav. key to do just that. ;)

Hey bread. So the rom you posted above and the G2 camera app are both working well?

And did you use flashify to switch from TWRP to CWM?

G2 camera app is working fine, for the most part. Video camera is broken, and I get a FC every time I try to use IA.
Did use Flashify to flash CWM. Created a backup in TWRP before, flashed CWM, created a backup there, and then flashed the ROM. This one does take a LONG to to boot so be patient. Not sure what updates have been made since I flashed it, but it looks like development is rolling quickly on it.
I'm getting a bit of battery drain from Google Play Services and am trying to figure it out. EM thinks it has to do with Google Now and location services, but I'm not sure and not willing to turn off Now.

Edit: Some folks are still have GPS problems. It's able to find me in my apartment, but I haven't used it for navigation yet. (perhaps it's also related to the battery drain)

And.... I'm double posting. :p
Looks like CM11 is now available as well, though it's likely fairly beta. Some folks are saying it's more stable than Gummy, but doesn't include as many tweaks (though Gummy doesn't have much right now).
[ROM][WIP] Cyanogenmod 11 for G2 VZW - xda-developers
Might give it a whirl later this week.
Also, appears you can use TWRP to install it which is a plus. :)

Edit: Whelp, XDA closed that thread as it's from a banned user. I'd proceed with caution if you want to flash it.

The latest nightly for cm11 (1126) now has mms fixed, so everything is working, tho it is stripped down I guess.

gonna give me two cents here since i've run about every 4.3 and 4.4 rom out there including the latest builds. The latest gummy and CM11 are nice and stable for the most part. We also have an official alpha version of PA but it's has pretty much no features yet. It's basically stock android. We should have official 4.4 AOKP very soon as it's being worked on. There is also 4.4 pacman coming soon. If you guys have any issues with gps there is a flashable fix for it over on xda that works on all the 4.3 and 4.4 roms.

Right now I'm actually running 4.3 AICP as I think it's the best rom we have in terms of smoothness and features.

Anyway I just read this thread and wanted to share with you guys my input since I've been following the roms over on xda a lot and it looks like in the next month or so we are going to have a flood of 4.4 roms. Right now gummy and cm11 are the best.

Yeah, saw AOKP has finally gotten to the G2. Pretty excited about it! Ran it FOREVER on my Gnex and hoping to see some 4.4 support. For now, I just don't see the point in going back. KK has been just fine for me (Gummy's). Would like to see some more mods, but I'm sure in due time. :)
Sounds like TWRP is working fine with 4.4 ROMs. Can't wait to get back to it.
