I have a 2nd generation Moto E with Verizon LTE and am having some issues with Android 5.1.

Apps act erridac and phone crashes and constantly needs rebooting.
The keyboard has major glitches as far as autocorrect. It often double inserts words and types the wrong thing.
Other apps misbehave and sometimes the phone crashes and reboots.
The rebooting seems to be tied to use of FM radio.
Google chrome is default browser, uses excessive memory and causes background apps to force close.

I am not rooted and Verizon bootloader is locked. I have anti virus and anti malware apps installed and everything is from Google Play.
Is it possible I have virus or malware on it?

Well, not being there to SEE what all is going on, it sounds like something is hung up in the cache or something has corrupted. You can attempt to clean the cache... if that fails, I would recommend a factory reset as a last resort. A factory reset will restore the phone to out-of-the-box condition... but it will also wipe ALL user data! So make sure you back up critical photos, videos, music and files BEFORE wiping it!

Good luck! :)
