[Verizon] Moving nandroids to pc

So I have a few nandroids on my phone and would like to get some off just to clean up space. Is the correct way to move them to my pc to just copy them from my nexus' internal storage? Then can I just delete them from my phone? Last, if I were to want to place one back on my phone and restore it would I just drag it from the location on my pc and drop it in internal storage and go through the usual restore process?

I do plan to keep a couple on my phone but would like to remove several.

Thanks.

Just by chance, do you use AirDroid for DL ROMs and such too? I've had it on my phone forever, but never thought about using it for that. Thanks.

I download ROMs to my phone directly. I haven't transferred files from computer to phone if that is what you are referencing.

I prefer to transfer large files like nandroids by USB, just in the interest of saving time. No reason you couldn't use Airdroid though...

Equally, I suppose you could use Airdroid to transfer ROMs from the PC to the phone... but whatever the method of transfer, ALWAYS check the MD5 of a file right on the phone BEFORE flashing it!

Astro File Manager will calculate MD5s. Long-press the file name, select details, and the MD5 will be displayed at the bottom of the pop-up window.

:)

I use root explorer and check my md5's there before flashing. I already copied some to my computer, I was just wondering if that would be the correct way, by use of my USB cable. Guess I should've stated that before.

Yup, you're right. Just make sure you put the files back on the phone in the same folder.
