[Verizon] nandroid and stock question

If I return to stock but create a nandroid then decide to return to root will I be able to go back to my nandroid?

Probably not as simple as that as you would have to re-root and install your favorite custom recovery to restore your 'rooted' nandroid created with said custom recovery.

The short answer.

If you mean a nandroid of whatever rom your running now, Yes.
You must be running stock bootloader, stock rom, stock radio to grab the OTA tho. :D

I did that a while back with a previous OTA.

I had a nandroid of an older stock rom and installed root keeper and took the OTA. I rerooted with rootkeeper. An hour later when the newness wore off, I restored the nandroid of my custom rom.

In my case I flashed the update via CWM after removing the recovery folder.

You can keep the recovery completely stock and take and use nandroids as long as your bootloader is unlocked.

Keeping everything stock and flashing actually nothing. :)
