Root [Verizon] Need some help

Hello all got a friend at work trying to root his phone. He has the verzion phone. Downloaded Odin and the file from the site on xda started Odin put it in download mode added selected PDA tab and added the file he downloaded. And hit start but its gitting caught up on
sbl1.mbn and won't go any further. Thanx for the help

Try a fresh download of the file and try it again

Did that twice. File was about almost 800mb file

Trying to do his today. Then gonna do mine tomorrow but I have AT&T and I'm telling him its gonna be a different file but he keeps saying it won't be.

Is his device on 4.1.1 and Verizon?
Trying to flash that .zip alone will not root him.

We did the first step and when it suppose to reboot his never does. No green bar no reboot tab.

You are on the flashing the VRALEC Bootchain?
Do you have the drivers installed? Make sure he doesn't have kies installed or running or anything else trying to communicate with the phone.
And I assume he is in odin (download mode) on his phone?
Is his current version JB 4.1.1? and not ICS?

How do you disable kies?

And yes everything else is correct

I would uninstall it. I dont use it, and I hear it sucks stinks anyways.

No luck he followed everything from that guide ya did and still gitting the error.
