Root [Verizon] Phone thinks pics are vids?

If i get a pic message from someone the phone thinks its a video and "plays" for 3 seconds and wont let me zoom in on it or anything unless i download it. Why is it doing this? Rooted stock 4.1.2

Hmmm, that is odd. That happens on the stock messaging app? (I assume it's an mms message...or are you talking about an email message?)

Do you remember when this issue started? Does this happen with a certain contact who sends you pictures, or any contact who sends you pix.?

Been that way for awile, cant remember exactly when. Anyone who zends me pix.

Well, I can't say I have that issue but then again, I use GoSmS.
I'm wondering if you temporarily download another messaging app like GoSms or Handcent or whatever, then try the picture view thing. Just to see if it happens on other apps?

You might also enter the mms settings and make certain you have auto retrieve ticked or something similar.... and if there is a max message size.. to set that to the max.

My phone does the same thing. Maybe a Samsung thing. Never had that problem with my other 7 HTC's.

Mine also does this. Has done it on pretty much every rom I have had also. Must be a feature of the stock android mms system app.
