It's up to the mobile manager of each Best Buy if they will price match...usually they will if you ask nicely.

I'm going nuclear if they A) Have my phone but don't send an email B) Won't price match. 30 minutes on hold! They stink. No wonder that store has a two star rating.

Yesterday I was going to buy Gnex or my wife and I went to BB in chicago and the manager wasn't there and they told me they have to see if the Gnex is in stock at the local radioshack before they do the price match.

I feel bad for all you Verizon guys getting the root blocked (for now) phones. I guess Verizon cried enough to get the phone to have this feature. Or you could shell out 600 bucks for the developers version :p
 
Just an update of what happened to me... figure someone might want to hear more agony on this thread... my s3 got to my local store Fri. I live 4 hrs away. I left here Friday and didn't get back til Sunday. Got my phone Monday, tried to activate it. The switch was down in west Texas, and they had to use my phone to fix it. I had to gI've Verizon's engineers my phone from Tuesday at noon til this morning to work with it. Finally they got it working this morning. It was worth the wait especially coming from an og droid... I love it!
 
Hey, everyone. I received my S3 on the 10th and have had a solid 2 days of use. I can assure you all that my first impressions have been nothing short of exceptional.
To those still waiting, I can assure you that once you do receive your phones, you will be immediately satisfied. No doubt it'll be worth the wait.

PROS
-great battery life (12.5 hrs under heavy use and 65% brightness)
-excellent screen--some pixelation if you hold the phone up close, but it is minor to the point where I don't even care. superb contrast. bright enough for my needs.
-great call quality
-beautiful UI in terms of fluidity, performance. Touchwiz has improved 10 fold
-camera = fantastic in terms of quality and software settings
-if you're coming from an older phone like me (og Droid Inc) you'll notice vast improvements in the inherent "lag" of most android apps and transition animations.

CONS
-wish the home button was raised a bit more
-LOCKED BOOTLOADER:mad:. any updates on a possible work around? I know encryption is tough. there are plenty of petitions available and I would also file a complaint to the FCC. Attaining a "developer's edition" phone is not worth the time, effort, and money.

Best Buy Mobile is a separate entity than the store. They don't have to price match, trust me I have been through this with them.
 
Anybody going to buy a 16GB Galaxy S3 at a Verizon store tomorrow? I will be; they’re supposedly holding a Pebble Blue one for me.

The Gnex is a penny at Amazon wireless. Sams club has it for $50.
 
I had are data plan question but got it resolved. I imagine there will be several others.

I preordered on 6/22.
The contract did state unlimited the plan however; showed a 2gb plan at a higher cost.

I contacted 8009220204 option 4. (state DATA PLAN at the voice prompt)
Verizon WILL honor the contract without hesitation.

The representatives received an alert for this today. The system no longer has the "unlimited" option so when we all activate the new device it is defaulting into the 2gb setting. They will definitely correct it. I had no hassle and my call was 5minutes + i left positive feedback for the rep since I expected to have to escalate and provide documentation which she didnt require.

Result. 2 years at unlimited. Spectacular
 
What's all this Gnex talk in the GS3 thread? Get your weak signal, fixed display nav bar, no microsd- device talking out of here now!!!! ;) :)
 
Can't wait to go to my local Vzw store to get the 32gb SIII. I am sick of my gnex. Probably just gonna just give it to my 2year old son
 
I got my phone yesterday at a local Verizon store. One employee told the person we were working with that he had to fight the CSR on the phone to keep the unlimited data for two customers the previous day and to expect to do the same thing. Our person called and it wasn't an issue.

I haven't checked mine today to make sure although I was told that it was unlimited by the rep yesterday.

On another note, when I pre-ordered I asked about returning the phone if I didn't like it and was told by the store manager that they consider the phone a "special order" and that I wouldn't be able to return it.
 
Getting ready to head in to the store myself. I bought this Gnex 14 days ago and today is the last day I can exchange it. I was tossing and turning all week about whether or not I should get the S3, but screw it, here we go. :)
 
Has anyone had this problem? I have had the same plan since altell was bought out. The plan included unlimited internet, so it was not a feature that I added. When I got my phone it automatically added the 2gb plan. When I called them, they told me they would send it to someone in retired plan or something like that. They told me it would be a week before I heard something back. Tomorrow is that day, but my billing cycle ends the next day. So should I call them back and raise hell and get them to fix it now? should I wait until tomorrow???
 
Just got back from the Verizon Store, exchanged my Razor Maxx for a 16 GB Blue Galaxy S3 with no problem. Even though it was a couple days past the14 day return period, they did an over ride like they said they would when I went in on Tuesday. Also, my unlimited data stayed. Very Happy!
 
So my BB email came in around noon, right as I was about to drive back home (the BB I go to is in the burbs - all the BBs in Philly are terrible). I just ran Kies, installed Dolphin HD, and SwiftKey 3 Trial. Downloaded Spotify earlier. The phone is beautiful and fast. Time to put my iPhone on CraigsList. :D
