That's great Because I keep seeing great deals for the Galaxy S3 prepaid/pay as you go for less than 300 bucks for Verizon. Unfortunately up until now it was advertised as 3G only. this is great
but I wonder if this phone would actually pick up for 4G LTE, as it's still advertised as 3G phone on their website:

Nope. That's just an add-on to the ALLSET plans.
with the ALLSET plans for smartphones, does VZW charge an additional "smartphone access fee" on top of the $45/month charge? can anyone confirm that the monthly recurring cost is basically $45?
context: my dad's 2-year contract is up in a couple of weeks and he is planning to move from a feature phone to a smartphone, but he was scandalized by the $40 smartphone access fee that VZW charges on top of the advertised cost of the plan.

No smartphone access fee, its about $48/month after added taxes.
