Root [Verizon] Problem with /System/App

I am rooted; as SuperUser is granting me rights.

For some stupid reason I cannot seem to remount or otherwise get my dumb /System/App folder out of read-only mode.

I want to replace SecSettings.apk with one that doesn't have the stupid Verizon Backup Assistant line in the settings window.

Anyone got any tips? I've tried over and over with ADB; even in shell mode. It either says remount failed; or can't work on a system that is read-only.

Didn't work in boot or recovery modes. It's like the thing just doesn't want to do anything.

FYI; I checked SuperUser log and it does show my ADB shell being granted Root when I run;

adb shell

I've tried ES File Finder and Solid Explorer; they both are unable to overwrite the file.

I don't care to spend $3.99 on an app that does the same thing as the two above.

Did you go into ES File settings and give it permission to go up to root and to be able to write?

Yeah, finally got it that way.

Kinda sucks because I really like Solid Explorer much better but it seems to have no mount option--weird.

I know their last beta did; because I made changes to the file system.

Either way, the SecSettings.apk is now in and that stupid backup thing is gone. YAY.
