Anyone know of an app or hack that will allow me, running JB 4.1.1, to program the Home button, so that when I press it with the display off, all it does is light the display, and NOT jump to the home screen unless I press it again?
I have an annoying issue since the JB upgrade. One of my numerous daily repeating alarms sounds. By the time I pick up the S3, the screen is already asleep (even with the display backlight setting maxed out). So I need to turn it "on" to see the alarm. I prefer using the Home button, because in my Otterbox Commuter case the power button is hard to press.
So, I press Home. The screen lights, but since it is the HOME button, the alarm instantly minimizes and the Home screen is showing. NOW, I have to pulldown the status bar, which puts the alarm BELOW my view at the bottom, then scroll UP the status bar list to get to the alarm, then tap on it to make it display, THEN I can finally snooze or dismiss it. Whew!
I want to make this easier. The alarm used to stay open on the display with ICS simply by pressing the Home key. I'd like that back. It only started this mess with the JB upgrade.
