Root [Verizon] Pushing APK to System/App

I hope someone can help me. I am trying to push a app to system app with ES File Explorer but it keeps denying saying that the APK is read only. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get it not be read only for that I can move it from my SD card to System App.

Please help!

Perhaps move it from the sd card to the phone, then try again?
Is it already installed and running from the sd card?

Also check the permissions of the apk zip. And make sure your file explorer is mounted as r/w (read/write) & not r/o (read only).

What app is it? Can you select it from your sd card and will it give you the option to install?
