[Verizon] Question about kernels with volume/vibrate +

Ok, beer with me folks. I am still trying to do alot of catching up. I am running JBSourcery 2.0. I _think_ it comes with imoseyon's lean kernel.

I know that some use volume+ for low ringer volume issues (but I am too cheap for that), and I thought in my research some kernels add this tweak and especially an increased vibe hack as well.

I tried the airkernel which seemed to have an option to add a line to the code to increase the vibe intensity (and the volume+ was only for headphones), however it also overclocked the GPU to 384 which in the long run wasn't a good trade off for me, and because of that I didn't test it long enough to test the more 'vigorous' vibe setting.

So, now which one should I try? Or should I just not and call it a day?

TIA.

I believe volume plus free version will give you the ability to increase volume for the speaker. The paid has options above and beyond that.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Volume+ as of right now does not work with Jelly Bean. As far as kernels, the Trinity kernels have the volume and vibration tweaks, but you have to have the app to adjust them (and its a paid app). Besides, I haven't noticed any change in speaker volume even after adjusting them.

You've stumbled onto a major shortcoming of the GNex that has been discussed ad nauseum in this forum. Good Luck!

Works for me in CNA and JB Sorcery, both JB ROMS...

Thanks. Giving a Trinity a try with the free app TricksterMOD posted over at xda.

Which Volume+ release are you using in JB Sourcery? I am using 1.9.0.4 and notice no difference in speaker volume.

I use 1.8.1.0, the full free one that was on XDA forums months and months ago. Trust me, I can make your ears bleed with headphones and the ringer is set to 4 of 7 and will have people from the other side of the office come look to see who's calling my phone.

Right now I am not using any Volume+.

However I wouldn't mind using it. Right now the thread I found at xda is this one:

[MOD] Volume+ compatibility! - xda-developers

and it lists version 1.9.0.1.

Could you post or PM your version somewhere, please?

So far the vibe seems to be better with my system as described above.

I use both volume plus and the Trinity app and kernel. Makes no change in my volume on my phone. The dev from volume plus even states that it is not functioning yet on jelly bean.

*shrugs* works for several people in this thread, including me...
