[Verizon] Question on flashing CNA kernel only

Ok, I upgraded to the newest version of CNA 1.3.3 from 1.2.0. While on 1.2.0 I was just running the kernel that came with CNA and was getting pretty good battery life. Since I flashed the new CNA I decided to give lean kernel another shot and now battery life is not as good.

So, is there a way to just flash the kernel for CNA, without having to reflash the whole Rom again to get it? It don't see just the kernel anywhere.

I think you can replace the boot.img in the current rom zip with the one from the rom you want and reflash the rom. I would suggest backing up and wiping cache and dalvik if you you are daring and want to see if you can avoid wiping. It may or may not work.

I just re-flashed the whole thing, but was curious if flashing just the kernel was possible. Guess there really needs to be a separate kernel to do that and I don't see one myself.

While it is possible to extract a kernel from a rom it isn't the easiest thing to do. It would involve getting the z-image out of the boot image and doing some other stuff I can't remember right now since I have only done it once ;)
