Verizon question

We are currently with ATT and are wanting to switch to Verizon. We both want the HTC thunderbolt but its not out yet. Does anyone know if its possible to switch to verizon now and get some cheapo phone for the time being then when the tb comes out, return the phones and get the tb at the new contract price? Obviously if its within the 30 day return policy. Thanks!!

If you do it at best buy it's 30 days (after 14 you're locked into verizon) and no restocking fee with verizon it's 14 days and a $35 restocking fee per phone
