[Verizon] Restoring ICS 4.0.4 to my now JB Nexus?

I've been pointed over to this section as I am extremely unimpressed with the current JellyBean 'update' that I was just co-erced into installing.

I've looked at the stickies, and from those I could not deduce the sequence of events I would eed to undergo, or whether a download for my version of ICS 4.0.4 is there.

I am in UK, with a Nexus from 3 provider.
I had the OTA update to jelly bean last week. I wouldn't normally 'rush in' to installing it, but the nags were VERY intrusive and persistant, and I couldn't find a way to stop them. EVERY time I unlocked the phone, about every 10 or 15 minutes when browsing, talk about aggressive, jeez.

Could someone outline what sequence I would need to do, with tools, and caveats etc, and if I can get the ROM (I assume) I need?
I'm fairly technical, but all the acronyms and processes are completely new to me.

You can go back with this: Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2 | WugFresh OR you can just wipe and install any ROM you like... I'm not sure what you are looking for. You can go back to stock and then allow OTA up to whatever point you like with the app in the above link or you can pick and choose...

Be careful, though, and do not install / update to the newest ROMManager/Clockwork Mod. I'm not sure what the safe version(s) are because I just stopped using any kousch products altogether...but there is a sticky thread about it.

What I Am After Is To Set It Back To The Exact Same Ics 4.0.4 That I Had Before.
I Did Look But Couldn't See A Download That Sounded Like One For 3 Network In The UK.

Also, If I Did Get It Back As It Was Before The Ota Update, Would I Suffer The Literally Non Stop Update Nags Again? Can They Be stopped? I Couldn't Find Away, Which Is Why I Stupidly Allowed The Upgrade.

If I might make a couple of suggestions, based on my current understanding...but someone please correct me if I am wrong.

First, because the current allowed ROM for your phone is based on your carrier, if you completely reformat and revert your phone to manufacturers stock, you will continue to get the update warning. This is because the update is through your carrier.
If you would like to run ICS, the only way that I can see to do that is the following:

First, please note the model # and code name of your phone. (It should be maguro...but please verify and write it down for later reference when/if choosing a custom ROM)
Second, you WILL need to unlock and Root your phone. This will remove the carrier influence of what specific ROM you have installed, and allow you to choose one you like.

At this point, please make sure to read, read, read....the process of Rooting may void warranties, risk bricking, and sometimes a carrier can penalize you. Please be careful when making this choice!!!!

If you are still ready to move forward with rooting, the Wugs toolkit from above is what you want to work with.
Remember that unlocking and rooting the phone will erase everything on it...including photos, messages...EVERY thing!!

Info on rooting:

After it is rooted, YOU choose what ROM is installed. If could be ICS or JB....YOUR choice. Also, you would choose a developer that has a custom ROM where the options are to your liking.
Here are a couple that might work for you:
ICS:

JB:

One thing to remember...customs ROMS typically have custom mods or changes..this means they are not always exactly stock. Just search for your phone model and use some of the links above for more info!!

Let me know if I can help in any other way, but a pm is best.

But please read, read, read before moving forward!!!!

Thanks For That Ryan.
I Am Looking At Options To Avoid It, But Some Things I Just Hate, Like Selecting A Field In Vbulletin Admin Control Panel To Highlight A Copy To Clipboard No Longer Copies The Field Contents, Buy Instead Copies All The Field Titles For The While Page.
Not To Mention Swype Being Broken Hence The Rubbish Posts I Have To Make Now.

Are Customisations Fully DocumentEd In These Custom RoMs?

Yes, each of the Roms have documented customizations. Some can be turned off or not used at all.

I noticed that you mentioned apps...neither of these are part of the Roms, and are subject to their own devs work too...but I can definitely understand where you are coming from.
If you have not tried the Chrome browser yet, I would highly recommend it! I can access any field in nopcommerce, vbulletin, and WordPress using it.

I have the VZW Nexus, and have tried just about every ICS ROM and now the JB Roms out there....And here is what I am running:
No swype for me.....and I AM rooted already.

I am running Jelly Belly 6.6 and Lean Kernel experimentals....
This is a pretty stock JB ROM. I have also added an app called Notification Toggles for a little help accessing things...
For this forum I use the Phandroid app, instead of tapatalk, and I use the Chrome Browser for every other forum I visit....

Keep in mind tho, these are just my personal preferences...
Good luck!!

Thanks for The Extra Info.
I Know Swype Is A 3Rd Party App, But The Changes That Came With Jelly Been Affect The Stick Browser, The Standard Email Clients, And All Other Areas Where I Might Copy/Paste.
I Used To Be Able To Long press To Select All Of Ann Email Address In An Email. Now I Can Only Get Either Side Of The@. And I Used To Be Able To Long Press Select An IP Address In Ann Email, Now That's Impossible. I Can Only Get It BY Selecting Near Text Then Moving The Blue Markers.

I Well Look At Chrome, Anything Is Worth A Shot.
I'm Quite Annoying Swype Got broken AS It Is So Much Better Than TapPing.
