Root [Verizon] rooting directions dont make sense

Rooting this verizon g2 makes no sense to me. i have no idea what a efs is why you need to back it up and what adb is and how to check it. before you tell me that i shouldnt do it then, ill tell you that i have rooted 3 other phones before without trouble. just cant seem to think straight i guess.

some laymen info for ya:

EFS is the radio firmware....... its something you will backup after you have a custom recovery installed...... and its primary major importance is if youre doing anything that might mess up the radio software.... like flashing a new radio...or flashing from jellybean to kitkat etc... it is however adviseable to have a good EFS backup at some point if you plan to be flashing different ROMS just in case something gets fubar

ADB is the bridge between your PC and the phone in the background...... its a way of communicationg between the 2 when your phone OS isnt up and running....... so to root for example you need to be behind the scenes....... behind the OS..... ADB can let you give the phone commands from the PC while the OS isnt running....... it does other things as well like let you push software etc....... but in this case your concern deals with rooting

root with ioroot and follow the directions........ theres even videos somewhere...... its pretty straightforward and simple

if theres a specific direction you dont understand ... ask about it here and myself or many others will be happy to walk you through it

my advice on rooting or flashing has always been........ read twice do it once..... make sure you have any files required or any settings setup before you start making major changes..... both on the phone and the PC

thanks i did figure it out. im rooted, but i didnt back up the radio yet. i dont plan on switching rom. i tried using freegee i think thats what it is so i can install recovery but my device isnt supported because of kitkat.
