I believe you have to use safestrap because Verizon locks the bootoaders. But you may get more helpful suggestions in the Verizon s3 all things root section.I just got two Verizon S3s with KitKat 4.4.3 installed and want to root them. I'm having trouble finding the proper root procedures since I've only seen them for earlier Android releases.
Anyone have any suggestions?
TIA,
CM

I'll move it over there for you, that way people more familiar with your s3 are more likely to see it.
Thanks. I think I found a solution.

No that will not work. You can't use philz. Verizon locks the boot loader. Try towelroot. Its simple, download app, open app, click "make it rain". If that doesn't work because your kernel is too new (you said 4.4.3) then you have to use saferoot and safestrap.I'm not sure this will work after all with Verizon S3s as it refers to a BoostMobile phone. I'd still appreciate any help for rooting the SCH-i535 since I know VZW does weird things to their firmware.
