Verizon s3 opportunity

Hello I am looking for folks impression of the verizon s3. I have a choice. Use my insurance and get brand new rezound for only forty dollars...or renew contract and get a hundred bucks off the s3...oh and keep my unlimited data.

I'm concerned reading posts about bad service.. I had the gnexus and u know that story...at the time I read its more on Samsungs behalf with weak signals. I live in a city, and struggle to.get service with my rezound.. but I think the rezound is pooping the bed and hope service is okay at my place.

Comfortable size?
Battery life duration?
Speaker ..Does it sound good playing music?
Any thing u don't like about the phone?

Thanks in advanced.

Go for the SGS3! You get to grandfather in unlimited data on an awesome device!

SIZE: this is as large a phone as I'd want to use. Now that I've gotten used to it, I don't want anything smaller, though.

BATTERY: Awesome! 24 hours on a charge with moderate to heavy usage, half on wi-fi and half on LTE. Screen on time of up to five hours.

SPEAKER: About as good as you can expect from a speaker that size. It's a bit better than my old DROID Incredible, clearly better than my LG Spectrum.

DISLIKES: TouchWiz -- I use Nova Launcher because TW doesn't rotate home screens.
Sounds -- I want the dialer to sound like a touch-tone phone, not a dripping faucet. Thickness -- The phone is almost TOO thin, but a case helps thicken it up a bit. Buttons -- the power button is directly across from the volume buttons. I need to get used to pushing one without pushing the other.

My few dislikes are easily remedied through apps, a case, and simply adjusting to my new phone.

Don't let the talk of PenTile screens being "inferior" to true RGB screens like on the Rezound scare you away. I'm coming from a True HD 720p IPS screen and I had no problem with the SGS3 screen. I though I might, but I didn't... probably because for two years I was using an AMOLED screen DROID Incredible.

Come on in and joing the (SGS3) party!

I get decent reception with my Verizon G3 then again I have always had decent reception with every Verizon phone I have had even when traveling.

Size of the phone is large but now that I've used it i like it. Not sure I could take more and sort of gotten spoiled by the large size now. I doubt I could go larger than 5" in a phone and now that I've used it I don't really want to go back to the 4.3" phones from before.

Battery life is like most phones. As long as you don't keep GPS, wifi and all the all the new features on all at once (NTF, ALLSHARE, all those new touch transfer features etc) the phone lasts a decent amount of time. I tend to keep mine on the chargers a lot by default. I am certain someone will come up with a longer life battery too at some point. if you turn all features on though you will rip through your battery life quickly.

I use Google Music to store my songs and the phone has a decent external speaker in it. It's not a docking station with large speakers though but it can hang on it's own. I had a Droid X and a HTC Thunderbolt and this phone is better than the Droid X external speaker and about on par with the HTC Thunderbolt.

Phone call quality is excellent.

There is nothing I don't like about the phone really. The S Voice thingy really needs work and I'm sure over time it will be more useful. The phone is fast and it's taken me a bit to get used to Ice Cream Sandwich (Coming from gingerbread). There are so many more option for this OS. Photos and video viewing and web browsing fly.

I have concerns over the microphone. Seems like sometimes I have to yell at the phone to get it to hear me. Still in the air with this. The auto screen brightness needs some work. I had to turn it off as it was just auto adjusting constantly to the point of being annoying.

I plan on getting a car dock to mount the phone on my dashboard as my Garmin navigator just broke and this does the same thing as it does.

Every app I used on my other two phones works on this one with the exception of Sims Freeplay and I suspect it does work they just haven't updated the Google Play so I can download it. It won't show in Google Play for me with this phone.

I transferred all my stuff to this phone and loaded it up with videos and photos and apps. used about 14 gigs of the 32 in the phone.

The Allshare thing I am having issues working out. Seems to be working on the phone but cant get it to work on my Windows 7 PC and my Sony Blueray has DLNA but wont really interface with it too well. Next blue ray should work better. I think the whole DLNA thing needs more work.

All in all I love the phone and highly recommend it. Any flaws in the phone are easily fixed or are just minor annoyances.

Thanks for the replies guys. Makes me so excited to get the s3! Camera good? I read some rubbish information about the verizon s3's camera quality being bad compared to other networks.. all the devices are the same for the most part right? Other concerns I read is the screen flashing? ..is this the annoying auto focus light your referring to? I also read that some peoples phone make noises? Like mechanical noise.

I am looking forward to the size and lightness coming from a rezound being I use my phone for all of my internet needs. My wrist should feel better ha! But I also read a post where something like text doesn't adjust after zooming in or something? Therefore its hard to read even with the large display. Anyone have issues with text on websites or anything?

Bump ..anyone want to comment on the issue concerns I posted last? Most worried about the screen flashing or whatever.

I came from a pretty decent camera phone (OG droid incredible)- i enjoy the fast speed of the camera. I have had some blurry pics in low light situations, but that can be remedied by messing with your settings. I've thought many of pics look great and great for capturing that moment when you dont have a regular camera. As with anything you must adjust to the various settings. I've enjoyed the camera and features so far.
