Root verizon s3 ROMs?

NUNNYA

Newbie
I really need some clarification. My boyfriend has a Verizon s3 sch 1535 rooted with saferoot. It's 4.3 and have read you cannot unlock the bootloader and to install safestrap to be able to flash custom touchwiz 4.3 based ROMs. The problem is I cannot seem to find any. Where can I find them? Are there any for 4.3?

Hello NUNNYA!
I've moved your thread from the Private Chat with Staff into the root forum for the S3;)
Am I understanding correctly that you have the safestrap recovery installed and are looking for roms?
You are correct about the bootloader bit I believe....it's locked.

Yes I have safestrap recovery. From my understanding Verizon makes it very hard or impossible to unlock some bootloaders. I've read that Verizon s3 after 4.3 update totally locked down the bootloader. Safestrap allows you to flash ROMs that are touchwiz based, but is it possible with 4.3? If so where do I find them?

Thanks for the link,I somehow missed that.
Having problems getting a ROM to work. Tried clean and alliance, both failed.
Would it be any easier to update to kitkat, reroot and try a different ROM? If so which rooting method and rom would you suggest?
Also this might be a stupid question but would I need safestrap

You'll still be in the same boat if you decided to somehow update to KK. You'd still need a modified version of safestrap and your roms would still be limited.
I'm not exactly sure why the roms are failing, but what error messages do you get?
Also, I've never used safestrap recovery to flash a rom. (I was fortunate enough to root/install TWRP while on 4.1.)

Verified the md5 file, it says 1de5ce86324c9749bbe44a378c3e49d1. But every ROM I try fails and says no md5file found. I think I might be doing something wrong in safestrap when trying to flash.

Checked the box that said skip md5 generation during backup. Tried again still fail. What am I doing wrong? I think I'm using safestrap wrong but I can't find any useful info. I know your not experienced with safestrap but maybe you can point me in the right direction.
Thanks for your help so far
