Root [Verizon] SD Card error after root

Droidxxxxx

Well-Known Member
After method one rooting method, during the process, i get an error about the samsung device not recognized..and I cant see the device under my computer.. i installed the device drivers per the link and it worked fine before the rooting process, but then something happens. It is rooted and unlocked though, going to try and get the zip for clean rom on the sd card manually w a zip drive i guess since i cant see it anymore through the phone usb..

But it is visible on my laptop..must be a local problem on my desktop..I haven't tried rooting from the laptop yet though..

ICS doesn't let you mount the SD card like prior Android versions. If you want full SD card access from your PC, try Droid Explorer Windows program.

Sounds like you have a bad driver on your PC. I would redownload the driver, and try again.

Install and profit!

I concur with the above, but one additional step I had to take after reinstalling my drivers was to prevent Windows from trying to search for, and download it's own drivers after the phone is connected to the computer. There will be a clickable link to do that on the pop-up that will appear to let you know that Windows is installing drivers for your new device. Once you tell Windows to not download it's own it will instead apply the drivers you just reinstalled. You may have to do that the first time you plug your phone into each USB port on your computer.
