Root [Verizon] Semi lost emails

Anyone run into a case where an email will come up on their phone but not in their PC email account? Had this happen with my Galaxy S3 on my Yahoo email account. The email was a valid email from a friend. I have since deleted the Yahoo account from the phone's email and installed the Yahoo app.
 
You would get that if you have your phone account settings set to remove emails from the server once they are downloaded to your phone.
