Root [Verizon] SetCPU App

Hello all! I'm not new to forums but I'm new to the Phandroid site and especially new to rooting. The NOTE 2 is the first phone I've ever rooted and so far I haven't really taken advantage until I downloaded the SetCPU app from the market.

I did some searching but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Can anyone recommend some profiles that can give me the advantage of battery life and or performance? I feel like our phones are already fast enough out of the box but it would be nice to unlock all of the phone's potential. Anyone running the app care to share which profiles they're using? Thanks in advance!

Welcome usmccobra1!
Although I don't have your device, I have the SG3 rooted and I utilize an app (similar to SetCpu) to control my kernel.
So I'd thought I'd chime in here:)

Now, when you talk about profiles, you have to be sure that the governor you use doesn't already have a profile setting embedded in it.
Let me clarify....the interactiveX governor already has a "screen off" profile. So be sure not to set a "screen off" profile when using that particular governor. And so on...
Here is a good read on governors...(sometimes a little confusing terminology :p ):

Also, different kernels come with different governors and schedulers. And every device is different and will react differently to settings. :)

Personally, I don't mess with profiles. I just play with the governors/schedulers and the over/under clocking of my device.
I don't even play with under/overvolting. No need to as my device is fine with what I have determined is the optimal setting.

Hope that helps a little:)

This does help! However, I do not have as many governors as listed on the link. Maybe I am using a sub-par cpu governor? Which one are you running?

No, it's not sub par or anything like that. It's just that different kernels come with different governors.
My kernel only has about 3 or 4 governors.
That list is a partial list of what is out there for different kernels. :)
