Root [Verizon] Something like the BlackBerry "Password keeper"

hput3

Lurker
Using a new Galaxy Note II, and after trying a few of the password keeper type apps available I'm not
finding one that is similar to the bberry app of that name.

It worked like this:
Then the only formatting involved was giving a topic or title. Then you just write whatever you want in
any format or no format. Just like writing in a text editor.
Save and logout

I want as little formatting as possible.. and the ability to import plain text documents easily.

Can any one suggest something that they know fills those two criteria and is available for galaxy note II?

Welcome hput3!

I use Keeper. I liked it so much, I bought it:)

I am not familiar with the BB version, but perhaps this is what you are looking for? :)

That was the first one I tried. I didn't like it in pretty short order. Mainly because I saw no way to just write what I wanted in whatever format I wanted. Keeper was big on templates ...(Unless I'm mixing it up with something else... I tried about 6 different password like tools)

Plus I saw no way to import plain text files and let them be a new item. If you've used it a lot perhaps you've seen that things I was wrong about some of things I decided were not possible?

I like just writing whatever info I want to keep in whatever way I like. Filling in preset fields is slow and usually not very expedient. So I thought maybe I could just write whatever I want on a text file with a plain editor then import it into keeper... It seemed not to be possible... is that correct?

What about keeping them in a text file, and saving it in Google Drive, or Dropbox or something of that sort.
For example, I have the DropBox app on my device. Let's say I start a simple text doc and use it for passwords. I can open DB on my device, but, I have it set to where I need to enter a 4 digit pin to access my files.
After a set amount of unsuccessful pin entries, I think it locks it down or something.

Sounds like a possibility.. do those two ways (Google Drive and Dropbox) leave the data online somewhere? I don't want that, if they do.

I loved the password keeper in bb. Now that I have the Galaxy Note 2, I use Keeper and I love it. But nothing beats the bb keeper.

Unless I'm wrong, a 'cloud' is on a hard drive in a server somewhere so I would say yes. For that reason I don't use 'clouds'. Just my personal opinion. ;)
