Root [Verizon] stuck Cyanogenmod Loading screen after flashing

So I recently rooted my phone. That worked great. I also unlocked the bootloader. No problems there.
I also am using TWRP

I downloaded goo manager, and used that to find a cyanogen 10.1.3 stable. Downloaded that, and then launched restore mode (dont think thts the right name, it was holding vol up, power key, and home button)

So i chose install, and then went into goo manager folder and chose the cyanogenmod. Everything looked good. The device started to boot, i got the gs3 boot screen with the little blue cyanogen guy on it
And then it went to the cyanogenmod circle with the 2 rotating parts, and it was stuck there for about 20 minutes.
I found (on some other forum site) that someone else had a similar problem, and to fix it he simply pulled the battery and rebooted, so i did this. It has been stuck on the loading screen for about 15 minutes this time.. im not sure if i did somthing wrong, or if there is anything i can do to fix it...

please help!

EDIT: this is a verizon gs3

one more EDIT: Is this bricked? :(

Hello there Daniel!
Nah, you're not bricked.
First I wouldn't use goo manager to do anything but perhaps install a new recovery...just my opinion :)
Anyways, let's get you sorted shall we? ;)

Let pick this rom to at least get you going: (download it to your computer)
[ROM][7/7/13] - CleanROM Seven -★| Clean! | Smooth! | Stable! | No Gimmicks! |★- - xda-developers

Boot back into TWRP, plug the phone into your computer, and mount the sd card (that way you can transfer the rom from the computer to the phone)
After transfer, unmount the phone, unplug from the computer, and do a factory reset/wipe cache and davlik cache, and flash CleanRom:)

I hope that makes sense :)

Could i download a cyanogen from the website, and use that to flash instead of cleanrom?

also, how do i mount the sd card? :3
im new to this whole process.

You could...just make sure you download one made for your device and carrier and download the correct version of Gapps.

To mount the phone whilst in TWRP, plug the phone into the computer, select "mount", make sure only "micro sd card" is checked, then select "storage: micro sd card".
The next screen will give you an option of internal or micro sd.
I choose micro sd personally:)
Then hit "ok" :)

I'm on TWRP version 2.6.0.0...yours may vary slightly if you are on a different version.....

I'll check back in a bit k? ;)

Ok, also, if I download the zip from the website, i have to download gapps before flashing? :O
god... i thought i knew what i was doing...

Just in case it matters: the one im using is the first stable one on this list, the 6th one
CyanogenMod Downloads

Yes, that one will work.
And no, you flash the rom first, then in the same flashing session, flash the gapps afterwards...

Hang on a few as now my drivers are giving me issues...sheesh! I can't mount my sd card via recovery!!! lol, now I got issues :)
I'll fix that later....:)

Anyways, I'm not sure what gapps package to use, so let me look at that a second:)

So on this webiste, it links you to a package on goo... Not sure if its right tho.
Gapps - CyanogenMod
Since the cm version im using is 10.1, the 2nd one on the little chart would be right (if this is reliable, which it looks to be...)
the 2nd one as in the one with this under it
5f22f046e37038a3856eeb825e73d4ed

Is this right?

P.S. [Mushy moment following] thx for all ur help, i <3 this site :)

o.k...go to goo.im

and in the chart, you will see the gapps package for your rom you want to use, CM 10.1.3...
It appears you need the 20130812 package :)

Edit: haha, you ninjad me!! :) But yes, you are correct :)

Haha, i have been known for my skills with shuriken. Anyways, now I go under mount, select the "Micro SDcard", and unselect the rest? Also, another noob question: When it is black with a blue x thru it, is that selected? otherwise it is just grey... Its hard to tell :P
And then do i put the files on the phone using android file transfer? Or some other program?

Just to add more difficulty to the situation: im on a mac... no pc's are available :o

A mac eh? Not familiar with those but do you have the drivers for the phone installed on the mac?

My phone is goofy at the moment but take a look at this from this site which has some good info about TWRP:

What Is TWRP Recovery & How To Install & Use It On Android [Guide]

uhh.. no drivers... im guessing i need them tho :l
Where do i download them from? Do i need them to be able to flash roms?

I cant just put the zips of cm and gapps on my phone with android file transfer and install them using twrp? That was what i understood i was supposed to do from viewing guides, but i really dont know what im doing apparently :O

EDIT: Would it help to do this with an external SD card?

hmm, never used android file transfer :o

If you can get the rom and gapps on the sd card with android file transfer, then sure:)

The drivers are for the computer only, that's all. You don't need them to flash roms etc ;)

...snipped quote

EDIT: Would it help to do this with an external SD card?

Sorry, just saw your edit....it's not necessary no....internal memory is fine.
Roms and gapps take up needed space on the internal, and that is why I keep them on the external sd.
But for now, no worries about an external sd card if you don't have one :)

I do have one, and it seems as if it would be easier to get files onto the phone using it, considering android file transfer isnt working while the phone doesnt have a rom... i think

Lets see if it works. Do i have to mount the External SD to be able to use the gapps and cm zips?

EDIT: ok think i got it.. so i go to install, and then do i choose the CM zip or the gapps zip first?

Also, should i wipe any data before doing this?

You got TWRP to mount the card? Cool! for some reason mine still ain't working :banghead:

Anyhoo, wipe first.....factory reset, wipe cache, wipe davlik cache.
Then choose install, navigate to the rom and flash it.
Don't reboot yet...go back and flash gapps, then reboot :)
Profit!

NICE!!!
Now, make a nandroid backup via recovery. It's like a restore point on a computer.
If something like this ever happens again, you have that backup to restore:)
And keep a copy on your computer too. :)

I'm glad you got it working again...:)

lol i actually bricked mine while updating a cyanogenmod rom and could access the recovery and even got that take you phone to verizon message! I should have took a pic of the message- lol it was a awful tough soft brick but thanks to old tech I was back in business in like 2 hours.... Thanks android forums! luv this place
