[Verizon] Tethering a Nexus 7 to my GNex

This question has probably been asked, but I'll charge ahead anyway. Can I tether me Nexus 7 to my GNex (for internet when I'm away from wifi) by turning the GNex into a wireless hotspot? Should I use bluetooth tethering instead, or does it make any difference? How can I make the GNex wireless hotspot secure so no one else can access it (let my neighbors get their own wireless)?

This one question morphed into three - sorry. BTW, I'm rooted, unlocked, running LiquidSmooth Beta 2.

As usual, all feedback appreciated.

Not sure about liquid smooth as I haven't run it so you may need to verify in that thread but both jelly bean roms I have tried the built in tethering worked fine.

Settings - More - Tethering and portable hotspot

you can secure it from there

Yes, it should work. I do it all the time with my ipad. (I know, I know, it was a free hand-me-down ok?) The nexus is probably even easier.

I've only used wifi tether. I believe it's faster than BT.

Password should be built in, and can be changed. Check the settings when turned on to configure. The app Wireless tether for root has encryption too, I believe.
