Verizon throttling Youtube

I'm a current unlimited data customer. I have used just over 7gb this billing cycle.

Just recently discovered about the throttling. Once i get on wifi the speeds are fine. I also use supertube to get around tbe throttling.

Anyone else experience the same??

It's been bad here to, trying to play a YouTube video would actually kick me off the internet. Netflix, Amazon, and Google movies all working fine, just YouTube no matter how small the video might be.

Count me in too. It works when Im at my home though I use wifi there, and it does work on 4g when I'm at a mall in town, but it seems that between there and my house, and there and my job...its a frigging load and buffer, play 3 seconds, load and buffer some more. This literally started earlier this month. Also, imagine my honest shock when I found out my 4-5 gig a month usage puts me in the top 5% usage bracket? Are you F-ing kidding?

This doesn't have anything to do with data usage, Verizon is purposely blocking YouTube for some reason.

Just noticed this myself as well... I generally try to avoid video streaming on data to conserve my data allotment (only 4 gb/month for 5 smartphone family) but on occasion I want to watch something. Tonight someone posted a video of my daughter singing and I don't want to wait until I get home to watch it. Nothing but non-stop starting/stopping/loading.

I think I'll conduct an experiment what percentage of usage I've lost to this and then 'throttle' down my payment to Verizon in the same amount! Way to suck at life, Verizon, from someone that always loved Verizon! Now, if you'll please excuse me, I have to go to the myverizon.com website and send them a harshly worded email!

Update: Before I flamed Verizon I checked the Community boards and a lot of people are having this problem. Verizon seems concerned about it and the continued responses from the group trying different things have seemed to conclude that the issue is with the You Tube app itself, and not Verizon. Others said that they can view videos through a browser on the You Tube page with no buffering.

Glad I checked.

So whats supertube?

NVM, I tried it. I got one video to load, and thats cause I guess it was a main one, the new Hobbit official trailer, but a couple others, still nothing. Verizon 4g+Youtube=dead in the water right now. My verizon fios wifi is fine, but Verizon's 4g itself and youtube=NOPE.

It acts the same be it running the official youtube app on my computer, phone, and Chromcast, or uTube (Voyage Apps) and YouTube.com on Fire TV for me.
Tried with seprate Verizon internet connections with both my phone and a dedicated Verizon MIFI hotspot.
Switch over to AT&T DSL no problems at all.
