Verizon-Thunderbolt/Charge--which one!

I just made up my mind finally to get a Thunderbolt (verizon)--currently I have an 8330 blackberry. However, I just read a small blurb about the new Verizon Charge. Should I go ahead and get the Thunderbolt-or wait until we hear more about the Charge in the upcoming days and weeks?!?

There's really nothing about the Charge that would incline me to wait. It has a HDMI port, its slimmer and battery life will most certainly be better (1600mAh vs 1400mAh). If its going to cost $299 as speculated the name is fitting. they both have the same spec 4GLTE, 480x800 resolution 4.3" screen, front and rear cameras, 1Ghz single core processors.

The thunderbolt has two main features that makes it an easy choice over the charge: a)Sense UI > touchwiz and b) 32gig microSD INCLUDED > 2mg internal + buy your own microSD. The kickstand is kick ass too lol ( even though they managed to botch this too by not putting the data port where you cant charge the phone while using the kickstand in landscape mode).

I would either go for the Thunderbolt or wait for something else. There is nothing too exciting about the Droid Charge except the fact that it is 4G. The $300 price tag is outrageous, especially for a non dual core phone, and Samsung has a very bad history of updating it's Android phones (the Facsinate/Galaxy S JUST got Android 2.2 Froyo). Try a TB and come the UI to the Fascinate, I guarantee you'll like Sense better then that schlop Samsung has come up with. And while the battery life is horrendous on the TB, I suspect this will be a common problem with all 4G phones and the positives outweigh the negatives.

The TB is also unlocked, meaning that ROMs can be flashed on it with ease. You might not care about this feature, but I'll tell you the number one reason that Droid 1 users haven't upgraded yet is because we are running these beautiful new roms that have brought our phones up to speed and kept us from getting bored.

Also, check out Motorola phones, like the Droid 2 and Droid X. Even if you don't want a non 4g phone, see if you prefer MotoBlur (or if you can't bare it, it's a love it or hate it thing). You may want to wait for the Droid Bionic, Droid x2, whatever the heck they have coming out. These phones are going to be dual-core and will be 4g. Although these phones are locked, making flashing difficult, Moto puts out quality products, as seen with the number of Droid 1 users still out there.

Also, check out the iPhone, you may like it.

Good luck and let us know what you decide on!

The Droid Charge comes out on Thursday, so I don't see why you shouldn't wait to see how it is. I wouldn't worry about updates for this, since it's DROID branded Verizon will support it, possibly even better than the thunderbolt, no matter what skin is on it. Some people even like Touchwhiz! I know!

Anyway, you should also never buy your phone from the carrier. There are much better deals to be had on Amazon, in Wal Mart stores, even Target. You could probably find both of these phones a heck of a lot cheaper.

So I would try them out in store on Thurs, see which one you like better, and use your current phone to search the Web for prices while you're at Verizon :)
