Root [Verizon] Trouble rooting on mac

Seriously having difficulties rooting on mac.

Can someone walk me through it.
Not a noob to rooting/roming.
Just new to mac.

Also i have Ubuntu set up if that helps anyone. Will try both os.

Do you have the exploit for your phone? If so, run adb in either OS, run the exploit to get temporary root, install su and busybox and set up owner and permissions, get out and install SuperSU from the Play store. There must be at least 100 web sites with those instructions.

In terminal type adb devices
Lists my device but says offline.
Cant get the rsa pop up to popup so i can accept the prompt. Up dated adb version to 10.0.31 in sdk but will not actually update the tool itself as it says 10.0.29
