Verizon Update?

Just did this online with Verizon. Any changes I need to make since I'm rooted and on 24A to ensure I'm getting HD voice/VoLTE?

If you have the right version (I'm in 26A), you need to enable the feature on your account online with Verizon; which it sounds like you did.

You then need to turn it on within the phone. Go to Settings/Networks/Tethering & Networks/Mobile Networks/VoLTE call. Check the checkbox. If you don't see this option, reboot the phone and check again. I didn't see mine until I rebooted.

Not sure what you guys have been experiencing regarding battery drain with this update but mine drains like crazy. My android system is utilizing up to about 20% of my battery life now. I pretty much hate this update as I used to have my phone last all day, now I am having to charge half way through the day. Anyone else having these issues? Wasn't going to root but now i may be doing this just to get a new OS.

I have been having problems with my battery life too. 100% at 11pm. 7% at 8am. Hadnt used it all night. Battery is charging very slowly too.

I'm not into all the techy jargon included in this thread but I'm assuming your phone crapped out on you when you say it's bricked? I had an update come through on the 24th. I am not sure if it is coincidence or not but my phone is pooping out on me as each day passes - noted problems this past week. Fortunately my carrier, Verizon, was willing to send me a replacement. Refurbished I am sure but I am hesitant to try and do a factory reset (call me chicken).

Screens maniacally switch and programs open up all on their own while I just hold the dang thing in my hand. Another thread noted some symptoms of known problems ("dead zone" on the touch screen and so forth.) Figured it was worth mentioning here- as I pointed out it happened to start occurring post-update!

Read some articles that 26b was released following 26a to address some issues with phones locking up and having problems.

I got both updates and it seems like my battery life has significantly improved. Ending my busy days of use with battery life still in the 60 to 70% range with over two hours of screen time. Used to end at 20 to 30%.

Also of note, I did do a hard reset a few days after the second update and noticed even better performance following the reset. Aggravating, yes and time consuming but worth it.
