Root [Verizon] USB Port Question

Hey guys! Been away for a while but have been lurking now and then just to keep my interest satisfied!

Trying to connect my device to my laptop USB port but when I plug it in, and browse my 'Computer' I do not 'see' it. ??? Whats does I needs to doooo?

Hey hey hey! you lurker! what's up?
Have you tried a different cord?
Does the screen on the phone come up with either mtp or ptp when you plug the phone in?

Could be 1 of 2 things . . . Does the status bar on the top of the phone say "connected as a media device" or "connected as an installer" ? If it doesn't, remove the phone's battery & sim card for a minute . . . Put everything back & re-try. That worked for me. If it displays connected as an installer, slide down the notification window & switch it to connect as a media device.

Well I somehow lost my driver for the USB2.0 ports! Don't know how but did. I dl'd new driver, installed and life is good!

I am visiting my sister in Florida and I used her printer once but could not get it to work again then noticed when I connected the phone to laptop it wasn't letting me see it. I think her cable may have been the culprit because it is bent. Thanks guys for the replies... sorry I was long getting back!
