Root [Verizon] Verizon Note 3 with 4.4.4... How can I root this?

I've been looking at Towel root and was going to root during Christmas break, but Verizon updated me to 4.4.4 and I'm not sure how to root it.

I am also running into the same problem did you find a solution? I just bought this phone used and want to root but I'm not finding any information online. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Unfortunately, there is no root method for 4.4.4 yet, and from what I've read there may never be since most devs have moved on to newer devices.
For those still on 4.4.2 and want to keep root, use Titanium to freeze SDM to avoid the update.

I don't believe it's possible at this point. Tried flashing 4.4.2 which is supposed to be able to be towelrooted, keep getting errors.

With a lot of people focused on the Note 4 there may never be a way.

No. There are actually two different 4.4.4 firmwares for the Verizon Note 3. I can flash either but not 4.4.2.

Once a device's android version is upgraded...it can't be downgraded because of boot loader blacklists....hence why both 4.4.4 builds from Verizon are still able to flash, yet 4.4.2 is not. Verizon and others are wanting Us to only be rooted if We are using a "Developer's Edition" branded device. However, let Us not forget that Android is Open Source. Ubuntu and a sturdy data cable is all that is needed to root any current Android OS. Unlocked or not. ;)

The folks over at xda developers forum have a "bounty" for anyone who can figure out how to root the Verizon Note 4. Was up to $13,881 last I saw. Might be worth your while to enlighten them with specifics.

I didn't need anything more than those two resources I gave You. lol....Maybe you shouldn't be rooting that device yet, and if you believe XDA folks aren't rooted on their Note 3's running 4.4.4 Stock then you and I are not...nor ever will be on the same page lol. More likely it's "XDA" isn't going to tell you out fear of "legal action" being taken against them by a major carrier lol.

;) jus sayn. You do realize that Android is merely Linux setup to run a touch UI instead of a traditional mouse and keyboard right? The answer to root ANYTHING android is always free and always available. Find out how to give Linux SU....then apply that info to your dilemma. I'm almost angry at how easy it was to root 4.4.4. I achieved temp root using a publicly available apk from chain fire then renamed that file to do what I needed it to. One cold reboot was the longest step involved lol. I'll make a video this weekend outlining the two resources needed and the three steps to find what you seek. You may soon learn though that having root isn't a real big benefit now, and will matter less and less from lollipop on into the future

The only thing I really miss about root is the Root Call Blocker. Adfree is great too but I can live without it.

Yes I am aware Android is based on Linux. Just for the record I am not entirely ignorant of Unix and some of it's various Linux flavors.
In 1993 I worked for a company that wrote it's own (crappy) Unix program. Around 2000 I began dual booting Mandrake Linux 7.0 and winblows 98, for several years I used Mandrake up until it became Mandriva. Somewhere along the line I've installed a version or two of Red Hat, played with Knoppix as well as Ubuntu; however I am far, far from from an expert, just an enthusiast.
Anyone doubting what Linux can do need look no further than the Linux NT boot disk for 'forgotten' windoze passwords.

If I'm slamming them.....You're definitely promoting them. If they are so helpful there....why are you so active here? Crusading for XDA will only leave you getting what others already have last. Guaranteed. Feel free to keep anymore XDA suggestions over on a XDA thread.
......or is it XDA day today? O_o

Sorry if I am promoting them. I learned quite a bit there, from making a custom boot animation to disabling low battery notification.

However it would seem their usefulness has passed. They really havent helped me with rooting anything since the Note 2. Guess I'm desperate...

“Unlocking” a device refers only to disabling software that would prevent a consumer from attempting to activate a device designed for one carrier’s network on another carrier’s network, even if that network is technologically compatible. In other words, “unlocking” a device will not necessarily make a device interoperable with other networks-a device designed for one network is not made technologically compatible with another network merely by “unlocking” it. Additionally, unlocking a device may enable some functionality of the device but not all (e.g., an unlocked device may support voice services but not data services when activated on a different network).

Apparently "unlocking" doesn't mean the same thing as rooting. Still a step in the right direction though.

I am subscribed! I got my note 3 in December last year and wanted to root it immediately. And now I'm paying the price of procrastination.
I have tried to peek over at XDA, I would have better understanding of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics.
What Verizon update locked the boot loader? KitKat or Lollipop?
Nice to know I'm not alone with this, Artie

Where the hell is this video of your magic root method that no one else knows?

I look forward to your help. I am on Verizon and I've found no information on a 4.4.4 root. I'm a newb, at rooting. I can follow directions from someone who knows what they're doing. I have a little understanding of the process though. I will check your posted links and see where that gets me. Thank you.
