[Verizon] Voltages - my only experience is using speedtweak

I came from a Thunderbolt and my only experience with undervolting was using the speedtweak script on lean kernel. The Nexus seems to require manual uv'ing and I'm not sure where to set voltages or what interface to use. I'm running AOKP M5 with Franco's M3 kernel.

Can I just use the rom settings to change the voltages(there are only 5 slots) or would some app be better?

I have no idea what is considered a conservative/moderate/extreme amount to uv. Drop it 50 across the board or does each slot need it's own custom drop?

Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks.

This is how I understand it all

With smartreflex you're best off leaving voltages alone. I used to undervolt like crazy before all the kernel devs learned a bit more how it all works with the TIOMAP. Of course, many do undervolt with positive results. Undervolting does make a difference if you disable smartreflex

I'd start at -25mV across the board. With francos app (and maybe more) you can look at the live MPU voltage smartreflex calibration which is awesome. Mine at 384MHz is 840mV. 1228MHz is 1250mV. Your phone will be different.

I'm running the same setup as you. The only tweak I have made in franco app is generic hotplug to disable one cpu core when screen is off. That is all. Franco kernel is the bomb :)

What is: live MPU voltage smartreflex calibration?

With francos app it shows you the calibration that SMARTREFLEX is doing on your phone in real time. MPU is CPU. SR adjusts voltages on the fly and is supposed to offer your cpu the best mV's when it needs it or doesn't need it. See below franco app:

edit: btw look at my data signal at home  new radios rock! Look at any old ss's of mine and at most but very rare I get 2 bars. It was usually 1

Ok, so turn off smartreflex to use custom voltages. Got it.

Two questions:
1. I noticed your voltages aren't just an average drop across the board, but instead you dropped each slot by a different amount. Is that based on any knowledge/experience or do you just go trial and error? Put another way, why would you drop the 384mhz slot by 167mv, but drop the 1036 slot by 187mv?

2. These are the roms stock voltages; what would be a good starting off point? I always used extreme undervolting on my tbolt with lean kernel:
1344mhz - 1380mv
1228 mhz - 1380 mv
1036 mhz - 1317 mv
729 mhz - 1203 mv
384 mhz - 1025 mv
