Has anyone tried this (supposed to work on VZW S4 - see page 5)?

I was noticing that the volume on my S4 has taken a nosedive since I rooted, and was hoping this would fix it. The only things I'm worried about are how it will affect Voice Search (see page 8) and if I have to reset Google Wallet before flashing (had a hell of a time resetting it the last time and don't want to go through that again if at all possible). I'm under the impression that flashing a mod without any wiping or a factory reset won't harm the Secure Element.

Thoughts? Experiences? All replies enthusiastically welcomed!

I skimmed through the thread in your second link (didn't really look at the first one much). Towards the end folks are complaining about Voice searches and other apps the use the microphone not working. So it may not be a good idea to flash one of those zips.
If you choose to make the changes manually, you might (!) be OK with skipping the mods that have to do with the mic.
I'd strongly recommend making a backup of the two files before modifying them so that you can easily revert back in case something goes wrong.

Alternately there is this, which I have never used only read about.

Personally I don't see how it would affect Wallet. However *I* would make a backup of Wallet using Titanium Backup (or whatever it is that you use) just to make sure you have a known good setup of it.
In fact, it would probably be prudent to make a nand backup of your ROM, just in case. :)

I tried the 1st link and well it boosted my volume but then I had mic issues. :(

I wanted to try it because I use a ZeroLemon 7500 mAh battery and with the design it cover the speaker so it us not so loud. Also to fix my mic I just re flashed over my cyanogenMOD ROM with out doing a factory reset.
