Does/Has anyone else experience(d) virtually NO volume control?

This morning I decided I wanted to listen to Pandora while I was shaving AND my wife was still asleep. I connected to my little sound bomb speaker and THE MUSIC WOULD HAVE AWAKENED MY NEIGHBORS! Of course, I tried the device volume...nothing. The app volume control did nothing...

The volume is either ON or off. CarbonRom v1.8. Is this a ROM issue or device issue?

Was that at about 6 a.m. central time? (thought I heard something :p)
Just kidding :0
I don't use Pandora but is there a setting in there to use the volume rockers?
What happens when you listen to other music with the media player app? Same thing?

Oooh, pick me, pick me!
It's actually a kernel issue. Flash a different kernel; should be good to go. Had this exact issue when I was on Carbon. Going to a different version won't help. It's the kernel.
