Verizons new phone and data costs.

Verizon looks to now be charging $40 for a phone line and $60 for a data line for a total of $100 per month for one person minimum. Does a single individual who wants a smartphone with Verizon really have to pay $100 now vs the previous plan costs of $70? Is this really verizons new fee? Thanks.

If you're an existing customer...answer is no. If you're a new customer...looks like that's the only way moving forward.

I just moved from AT&T to Verizon and I would pay $120 a month! I can't get over how awesome the service is. I guess you get what you pay for. I wish I hadn't waited so long to make the switch.

Just confirm, the cheapest plan you can go with wwould be the 1 GB plan @ $90 a month. I opted for the 4 GB @ $110.
