Very Excited About My New Vpad7!

YamaKing

Newbie
Just got my VPad7 today. I am excited, even though I already have Samsung Galaxy Tab 7. It's very interesting to see different implementation of Android OS. I am able to run most of same apps as the GTab except Netflix.

Pros:

-can run games like Angry Bird

- can play movies (must use iPod's lower resolution format, not iPad)

- very fast and responsive, this surprised me. The haptic feedback on keyboard is good, makes the tablet feel more secure. Did not expect Swype to be the default.

- can run Live Wallpapers...YAY!!!

- comes with app to run MS Office docs

- "Professional" reviews make a significantly bigger deal out of the crappy viewing angles than it actually is.

Cons so far:

-slow processor can be felt during movie playback and even web surfing as I scroll up and down the page. I did not expect this to be a big deal, even though I know it only has 600Mhz.

-built in app selection is sparse (outside of the Office Doc app), Viewsonic did very little help to make this a great user experience.

-screen resolution isn't so great but I kind of knew this already.

Well, hopefully I can make a review sooner than later.

YamaKing, can you stand a newbie question? You mentioned something about the built-in app selection, and that it's rather limited. Question: other than that option where can I go to see ALL the apps that are available for the Viewpad7? Thanks.

No problem Lizzyvee, I'm a newbie too. The apps that come with the VPad are basically all generic 'stock' Android apps that pretty much come standard with any Android tablet. If you want to add more apps like games or news or weather, you just go to the Market for Android and download it there.

All the apps you see in the Market should work more or less for the tablet. Usually if it will not work on the tablet, you won't even see it. I can see apps for my Samsung Galaxy Tab that I cannot see for the Viewpad so I'm assuming that the Market automatically knows which apps will work and which ones won't.

Hi YamaKing, do you know if the fonts on Viewpad7 can be deleted and new ones added for use with the qwerty keyboard on the 'to go docs' like word etc.

I want to download some new fonts on the virew pad 7, for word, can I?

Does anybody know? Would be really grateful if anybody can help!
