Help Very strange issues with my Indulge

My Samsung Indulge is having three very strange issues:

It tends to freeze up, requiring that I remove the battery and restart the phone. Annoying, but nothing worse than that.

More serious are issues related to the slide out keyboard, my favorite feature on this phone. Previously when I would be typing on the slideout keyboard, it would suddenly go to other function screens on the phone without warning. Going back to the previous screen and trying to resume my typing only repeats the issue.

But starting today, when I slide out the keyboard, it abruptly shuts the phone completely OFF! Phone is completely dead until I power it back on again. If I slide the keyboard out again, it shuts off again.

Anything I can do on my own before I take this phone back to the MetroPCS service center? I purchased it on the last week of September, so it's still under warranty.

All help is appreciated!

I'm no expert here by any means, the slide the keyboard out and phone cuts off immediately happens to me maybe once a week but not every time.... not sure what causes it

but as far as your shortcuts kicking in when you are trying to do something, I had that problem too. You can go to settings/applications/quick launch and long press any of the actions on the list that have shortcuts assigned to delete the shortcut.... this will fix the problem you have from time to time. I am sure there is a fn and key to disable the quick launch menu when it turns on but I didn't know what it was and I don't use the shortcuts so i got rid of them, problem solved.

Might have something to do with hardware try sliding it out hard and the soft soft it shouldnt cut off or might be batt lead popping out or the wire to the screen and phone
just bad phone ive return this phone so many time ive payed 300usd + cause the melt over heating no sounds melting again over heatting again 2 hr batt life and also i dont like waiting for my phone to get replaced for a whole week

From my experience, the extended batteries are cheap and will malfunction when physically jolted. Mine got so bad I went to stock and that fixed it.
