Viber decides to keep relaunching itself

Title kind of says it all.

In Viber I hit More > Exit

Then I need to confirm exit (Exiting will limit your availability, and you might not receive calls blah blah blah)

So, I confirm exit and within a few minutes it will relaunch itself.

Please don't tell me that this self-relaunching is a feature and not a bug.

Additionally, I decided to uninstall Viber unless I hear some kind of reasoning/solutions to the above from you guys that makes me want to use it again.

But you cannot cancel your viber account. You can only deactivate it. Which means all my information (read: PASSWORD) will be remain on their servers. Which means, if they get hacked, I could have my password exposed even though I may have long forgotten about Viber.

So, I went to change my password before I deactivated and uninstalled and I for the life of me could not find a way to change my password before I deactivated.

Further, when I deactivated, it warned me that viber would be deleted from my device. After my deactivation, I rebooted my phone and viber was still installed.

Odd stuff.

AFAIK you cannot truly exit viber since it was designed to be always on as a messaging service anyway. This may just be a bug in their latest version since I just keep it on since people use it to contact me for free. I really don't understand why anyone would use Viber and turn it off anyway, since the whole point of having it is to receive and send messages for free. If you turn it off, then you won't be receiving anything.

Valid. But like Skype, if I choose to turn off the program because I don't want to be disturbed or my battery is dying and I need to turn off my mobile data radio, I should have the choice to do so. Not being able to exit a program (especially if when I literally hit the word "exit" twice) that is not system critical makes it seemed forced and restrictive. If I want to feel like that - I would buy an iphone.

There was an update released a couple of days ago. May the bug is fixed there.

I downloaded it two days ago and then again yesterday. So, it is the most current version: 2.3.6.338

Turning off the mobile data radio should be enough to not worry about viber anymore. Anyway, you can try tweeting them or emailing them. They answer fast enough to queries.
