Viber Problem

Not sure if other people using the HTC One X has the same problem as me.

I use Viber to chat with someone overseas who is using a Samsung S2. Many times when he calls me, I can't hear a single sound but he can hear me. The network quality flucuates but sometimes there are no problems. Is it my HTC or is it his Samsung??

Normal calls work fine

I've only used Viber once over WiFi and it worked flawlessly so I can't really comment, sorry. Are you both using WiFi or are you using data connections?

You might get a better response in the Applications forum, if no one else can chime in, I'll move this there if you like?

I have used my one x on several occasions via Wi-Fi too and have not encountered any issues.
As previously mentioned by El-Pres I can only think this might be some sort of network related issue if either you or your friend are not using Wi-Fi??

@bellaneko - Do you use stock or custom ROM?
It sounds like the typical Custom ROM issue - some custom ROMs alter the microphone definitions of your phone, causing Viber not to recognize the phone's microphone properly. That is the reason that Viber cannot transmit your sound to the other side. We discussed this issue in detail with our users in this thread on XDA Forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25865775#post25865775

Please note that in that thread, a workaround was suggested *by a user* that seemed to have solved the problem for Galaxy S+S2 users.

I have a weird thing going on on my galaxy note 2. Basically i downloaded viber and it seems to be working fine but then i tried to sync with my contacts by going to settings, accounts, and clicked on viber and all it does is that it goes back to my settings page and does not sync with my accounts at all. It should be doing the same as what they say Viber does on the youtube video they have up for android but mine does not. I restored my new phone to factory settings but still same problem can anyone help PLEASE this is very frustrating !!!

Viber currently does not integrate with Android's native contact list unfortunately. In future versions we hope to bring back this feature, and once we have news we'll let you know.
