Help vibrant locked on black screen??

ok, new to the galaxy/android phones.. bought the phone rooted.. herd about the lag fix and looked simple enough so i tried it and basically the phone is stuck on a black screen with the keys on the bottom staying lit.. it will go into recovery mode but im not seeing anything that helps me in this mode? like i said im not real familiar with the phone but i can follow directions pretty good,loL! can someone help with getting this back to factory or something?? can i factory reset in recovery? i only see , reboot..reintall packages..delete user data and delete cache?? thanks for any help!!

I had the same problem.
Try this:-
Make sure it is turned off (take battery out then put it back in)
Take out your sim card and your memory card.
Start the Galaxy S in recovery mode - hold vol up + on/off button + home button.
Release as soon as white writing comes onto screen.
Recovery mode screen will appear.
Use vol rocker to highlight choice "Reboot"
Let it reboot.
Hopefully that will be it

BUT

If its the same as me then your screen will remain black BETWEEN the white Samsung writing and the actual appearence of your desktop - every time you reboot will be the same.

At least the phone will then work and not be an expensive "door stop"
