Vibrate and Ring.

Well, I obviously just got my Droid. I'm a long time blackberry user, so I'm used to it's lay out. So my deal is, I want to be able to have my phone do everything and vibrate when it's in "vibrate mode" but when I have it set to ringer of any sort, I don't want it to vibrate at all, even during my texts.

What can I change to let this work? Right now, I have selected "vibrate also for notifications of SMS." where it'll ring and vibrate. I just want it to ring during "ring mode" and vibrate only during "vibrate mode"

If I'm understanding your question correctly, you'll want to un-check the option Sound and Display -> Phone Vibrate. That should make it only vibrate when it's explicitly set to vibrate mode.
 
sort of. I want it in regards for messages. When I get a text during "Vibrate Mode" I want it to just vibrate (I have to check the box at the bottom of message settings)

But when I change to ringer levels, when I recieve a text it both rings and vibrates. I don't want that. I just want either or. Ring or Vibrate. And in the case of "Sound Mode" I want just the "ding."

While on "vibrate mode" I want just the "vibrate."

is that possible on Android?
 
I'm looking for this ability too..

When I'm on sound mode, I want to hear the "drooooidd" sound by itself..not accompanied by a vibration.

When on vibrate, I only want the vibrate.

Hopefully we can have both?...

Anyone?

Ring toggle does the trick, but I still kind of wish that I could have this functionality out of the box..having to open ringtoggle everytime I switch from vibrate --> loud mode doesn't strike me as a proper fix.

Anybody else have any ideas?
 
So will this App make all notifications/alerts turn to vibrate?

I want a global vibrate all ability instead of just phone calls vibrate and all alerts silent.
 
I just noticed this.... this kind of sucks...

And it's not the DROIDS fault, it's just the Android OS in general.


Why can't we have a simple setting choice for this? I mean with the WORLD of settings android has already i can't believe they overlooked this.

Why is this important?

Well - it's simple, i want a QUICK way to turn on Silent/Vibrate, and a quick way to turn it back to sound.

What's that? the Swipe Screen, isn't that why they made it?

You swipe to go silent, and you swipe back to go with sound.

Why can't we have Vibrate with that silent? and NOT vibrate with sound.
 
Exactly, and I hate that i can't get vibrate on sms/email on vibrate mode unless it also vibrates when not on vib mode.
