Hey guys, a couple months ago my vibration stopped working. i finally decided to try and get it to work. it doesnt vibrate for anything! I think it may have been when I flashed a ROM, but sometimes i delete files to have more space so is there a file i could redownload to get it to work or is this permanent? Any link to get a new peice and replace it? Im good at hardware but still learning about software. HTC Evo 4g MIUI ROM. Not sure what ROM it was when it stopped working, thanks guys!

Loosing the vibration is a common hardware failure, it may be Rom related but usually that is fixed by wiping the cache partition and the dalvik cache.

Try booting to recovery and select wipe, the just wipe the cache partition and the dalvik cache. Reboot, it'll take a while to boot because the phone needs to rebuild the dalvik cache, be patient. :)

Post back if that works, we'll go from there. :)

Sadly, this did not work but where you say cache partition my recovery only says cache. Is that a problem? Thanks for helping.

Nope, that's the cache partition. Clockwork Mod recovery just calls it the cache, same thing. :)

Ok, have you flashed any New roms lately?

Maybe make a nandroid backup and give the new MikG 3.11 a go. See if its your miui Rom.

From there we'll go stock, and see.

I have flashed a lot of roms but the vibration hasnt worked for about two months, and I just got the MIUI rom a couple days ago. I am downloading the MikG 3.11 rom right now but I am beginning to think it isnt a rom. I have never dropped it either and its always been in a good case. Thanks for helping let me know what you think.

No problem, always glad to help. :)

I have a habit of turning the haptic feedback off for everything, right off the bat to save the vibration components. If you can live with out it, it really won't hurt the phone, just won't be able to turn your ringer off.

Please let us know if flashing a new Rom fixes it. :)

Tried a couple different roms and nothing worked. It really isnt a big deal, I was just seeing if I could get it to work again. Thanks again for helping!!
