Help Vibration

Okay so this is my first post and I've had my phone for like 3 days. And love it aside from a few minor issues. But on to my question;

Is it possible to change the vibration settings as in a way to make it vibrate longer then half a second for notifications and can you select other notifications ringtones other then the uber lame ones preloaded??

I don't know about controlling the vibrations, but if you go to the market, and download ringdroid, you can make your own notifications and ringtones from your mp3s.

There may also be some available on the market for downloading, but I like to make my own.

If you're talking about text messages, there are some apps like Handcent that let you control the vibration upon recieving a message.
