I updated my phone last night (Samsung Galaxy S3) as there was a new update but now it is done I cannot change the vibration for different notifications..does anyone know what to do?

If this was the first 4.3 update, wait for the next one. It's supposed to have all the bugs from the first one fixed (they say). (Samsung released it - the carriers have started releasing it.)
If it's one you did yourself, we'd have to know where it came from, who wrote it, etc.
