video calling

You have to install a video chat app like Skype, Tango, or Fring. I've used Tango and it works good on the S3. I was chatting via WiFi, and I've never tried it via 4G. I can't speak about the other two apps, but Skype is widespread.

To use it, the other person has to have the same app installed on their phone. Tango is cross platform. Since my daughter in Canada had an iPhone, I choose it. Not sure about the other two.

I believe video chat uses about 3Mb per minute. Hopefully someone who keeps up whit this more than I do will chime in.

Actually, for Samsung phones you don't have to install an app. Just head to your contacts, open the contact you want to video call, and hit the video call button. Its going to make a video call over data. Of course the phone you calls needs to have support for this.

Or you can go to the dialer, enter the number of the person, then hit video call button at the lower left corner

This goes for all Samsung devices.

I don't think the S3 has those options. I just looked under a contact I know also has an S3 and there was no video call option. Also, in the dialer I have a link to S Voice (for voice dialing) instead of video call.

That probably depends on the version. Those images are screenshots from the international Samsung Galaxy SIII. The international Samsung phones have those, haven't seen one that doesnt.
