Help Video Camera is Horrible How Can I Make It Better?

Okey so here's my mission.

I record lots of video because I vlog. My Nikon Digital camera always has black boarders no matter the settings I use. I figured because I always have my cell phone with me that it will make the best camera. But no.

So far the footage that I got from my Moto G has been all wrong. I don't even know what way to hold the phone so it can capture the footage right side up. Power button on the top or bottom?

Something else. I don't know if any of you have experience this at all but here's something about the quality of videos. Its just not that good.

Videos seem to be out of sync with the audio. I will be talking to my phone and you would not hear my voice for 3 seconds later. I'm using the back facing camera most of the time, and am currently using the stock Motorola Camera app.

What can I do to make my videos better quality? Thanks.

You can't make the camera (the video quality) better - that's hardware. You might find an app that syncs better, though.

Are you using the stock camera/video app? I've used several and have found only minor differences among several phones, though I don't shoot many videos.
I'm really digging the Google camera app now, and also like the LG one for my G2. The Moto camera app is pretty much beyond me at this point.

Yes. I'm using the stock so. I don't know what else to use other than the official Google camera.
